Winter Nail Polish Favourites

Painting my nails is something i love to do on a Friday evening after a nice relaxing bath. I have been painting my nails more often recently and also had a professional manicure a few weeks ago.

These nails are actually glue-on nails that i bought at the beginning of December in Penneys/Primark. I thought they were very cute and it was much easier than trying to paint reindeer on, myself! These cost €1.50 and lasted quite well, considering the price. I find these glue-on nails easy to apply and easy to shape and get to the length i want.

This is a picture of the Gel manicure i got a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed getting my nails done and was curious to see what all the hype about Gel manicures was. I was very impressed by this experience. My manicure lasted about 18 days which was really impressive. It took me quite a while to choose a colour but i eventually decide on this lovely coral-red. I will definitely be treating myself to another manicure soon!

A classic French polish manicure is hard to beat, I love the classy, polished look it gives and is easy to maintain. I used an Essence French Tip polish and the Essie 'No Chips Ahead' as my base and to coat. I decided not to use a French pink as i prefer a less fake look. My nails are quite short recently but i don't think that super long nails are a must for a French manicure.

This is one of my most recent nail polish purchase. I picked up this lovely maroon Essie polish in a pharmacy/drugstore on sale at €3.50! I wish i had picked up a few more colours but resisted the temptation to stock up. This is the prefect Autumn/Fall colour and is a staple in an nail polish collection.

Glitter, the perfect Christmas nail polish! This is the latest addition to my nail polish collection. This is Barry M - 'Yellow Topaz' , i love glittery nail polish and this one gives a really nice opaque shimmer. This polish can be used either as a top coat on any colour you like or on it's own as a simple glam look that ads to a party outfit.

One of my favourite all year round colour is Essie - 'Spaghhetti Strap'. It's a pretty nude pink and compliments any outfit or style. I find it rather difficult however to get an opaque coverage without it going too thick and then not drying properly.

The nail polishes that are on my 'Wishlist' are:

Essie - 'Turquoise and Caicos'                                     turquoise & caicos - greens By Essie
' Really Red'                                                            really red - reds By Essie

And and but not least... the famous drying drops..                                                                                                     quick-e - top coats By Essie 'quick-e'

No7 BB Cream Review:

I first discovered this product by reading a review online. I went to my local Boots and asked what the best BB cream would be for normal to dry skin. The lady recommended the No7 BB cream because she said it was good for young skin especially and also there are different options for each skin type.

She gave me a sample of it in the lightest shade (Fair). I tried it for a few days and I loved the results. It gave me a light to medium coverage and I found it to be very moisturising. I decided to 'invest' in it and buy the full sized tube. It costs €17.39 but I had a €7.50 off No.7 voucher so it didn't feel as though I was breaking the bank! I would definitely recommend this product because of the variety of shades, preferences for skin types and it's suitability for younger skin. Although it seems darker than my skin it blends very well with your skin tone to give you a radiant and natural glow.

My life since my last blog post! :)

So it has been quite a while since I posted my last blog post and I have a valid excuse...I was doing my Junior Cert exams and I was studying like crazy for the last few weeks! :) I finished my exams today and now I'm free at last. I am planning to post a blog post every second day and i'm also starting  beauty, fashion and cooking YouTube videos. My channel name is Deirbhile96 and it would mean the world if you could check it out!
So i thought i would just post a few pics of what I've been doing lately!

I went to a concert organised by my school. It was a national competition. My favourite band was Storyfold which has the irish radio presenter Paddy McKenna as the lead singer. I really enjoyed going to this concert and it gave me a break from studying. :)
On the last week of school the teachers decided to bring the whole school to the beach because the weather was amazing! It was a great day although i got really burnt! :P Unfortunately the weather recently has been so horrible and wet.
I decided to print out loads of pictures and made a collage on my wall. It was really time consuming but I love how it turned out! :)
I got this wrap from Tesco the other day and it was so tasty! It has choritzo and chicken and salad, I LOVED it! :)
My sisters made this Ireland cake for Ireland playing in the Euro 2012 football competition! It was really tasty! :P
I will be posting more interesting blog posts starting on Tuesday! I hope you like this blog post! Please follow it would mean the world! :)

Costal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette Review

I've had this palette for almost six months and I LOVE it! It has such a huge range of colours to pick from and lots of different shades of each colour! :)
The colours are very well pigmented. One thing that I don't really like is that they aren't VERY shimmery. I suppose that's personal preference though! If they were just a little more shimmery I would not use any other eyeshadow ever!
I usually only wear neutral colours but I love having the option to wear a pop of colour in the summer by putting a thin line of whatever colour I like under my waterline. These pallets are very inexpensive, I got this one for only $20! I would highly recommend this palette to anyone, no matter whether you are a beginner in makeup or have been using make up for years! it's a great staple piece to add to your collection and it gives you lots of options for creating hundreds of looks! :)
Hope you enjoyed reading this blog post! Please subscribe, it would mean a lot!

My favourite nail polishes for Spring!

These are a few of my favourite nail polishes for Spring! I love painting my nails but never have time to wait for them to dry! I always need to either put on socks or tie my hair up just when I've finished painting my nails! Haha! I'm not very good at manicuring my nails before painting them but I'll show you my favourites anyway.

I always love wearing red nail polish, there's something very classic and elegant about wearing red!
I love wearing classic red or adding a splash of glamour with some glitter polish but red is definitely the colour I reach for most! :D

Another favourite is French polish. I'm not very good at painting a straight line for the white tip especially with my bad hand (left) so I prefer wearing fake nails, that are French polished in advance! They look really glamorous and sophistacated!

I love the bright and pastel nail polish trend! I love wearing pink especially, and I love the pastel colours I got from Avon. I think pastel nail polish looks really pretty and screams Spring. Although the weather here in Ireland is much like weather you'd expect in Winter I love wearing bright polish to add a splash of colour to the dull and rainy weather we're having! I'm hoping it might get better for Summer but there's no guarantee of that in Ireland! :P
Thanks for reading! Please follow my blog it would mean the world to me and leave a link to your own blog and I'll go take a look at it! :)
Lots of Love,
Deirbhile! :)

My Birthday!

Hello! :) This is my first post so i'm not quite sure what to write about! It was my birthday last Wednesday so I thought I'd show you some of my favorite presents. :)

From my parents I got a gorgeous Eton watch. It has a pink suede strap, the clock face is rectangular with small rhinestones around it. The numbers are brightly coloured and remind me of Charlie and the Chocolate factory! haha! I love this watch, I haven't had a watch in a few years so it was kinda weird wearing a watch and knowing the time!
From my Auntie and Uncle I got four Avon nail polishes that are really pretty! I also got a mini make up bag with hot pink and white stripes with roses. :)
From my Grandparents i got lots of little gifts that i love! I got a really cute makeup bag with three make up items inside. I got a W7 lip tint which is a light red colour,  a sparkly pink lipgloss from the same brand and a 4 in 1 powder that has bronzer, blusher, highlighter and nude powder all in one.

I hope you enjoyed reading my first blog post, I promise I'll get better!
Love, Deirbhile xx
